Mission 13: Return to Battle Part 1

YiRu went back to school to continue his masteral studies. He's writing email to DaDong.

The email said:

DADONG, HOW ARE YOU? HOW HAVE YOU BEEN AFTER THOSE HORRIBLE INCIDENT?

HAVE YOU GONE BACK TO BEING A PRIVATE INVESTIGATOR SINCE THE sLAYERS DISSOLVED?

Dadong was roaming around town with a girl when suddenly, he saw a familiar face. Rainie.

"Rainie?" he followed Rainie's lookalike.

"Hey, DaDong! Where are you going?" his date yelled holding ice cream.

"Sorry but I gotta go!" DaDong yelled back. "W-Wait! Rainie! Wait."

The girl stopped and DaDong stood right in front of her. She took out her glasses.

"You're not Rainie?" DaDong asked.

"Kate," the girl answered.

"Sorry. I used to know someone who look like you," DaDong apologized.

"You're good." Kate said.

"Huh? N-No, it's not like that. I wasn't trying to hit on you or anything..." DaDong scratched his head. "You really do look like someone I knew. I swear."

"How cute." Kate replied.

DaDong invited her for a drink in a nearby coffee shop.

"You really look just like her. But you're more refined, quiet and innocent." DaDong explained.

"That was lame!" the girls around laugh at him.

"I want to go someplace quiet. Just the two of us." Kate said mysteriously.

YiRu was sending email to YaLun:

YALUN, HAVE YOU GOTTEN USED TO THE LIFE ON THE BEACH?

YiRu's classmates are having conversation behind him.

"What? No! Really?" the guy said.

"That's scary," the girl said.

"This serial kidnapper is a total psychopath!" the guy replied.

"Why? Why did he have to kidnapped girls and burn them?" the girl asked.

"That's awful!" the other girl beside her answered.

"This guy must be a wacko!" the guy replied again.

YiRu was listening carefully.

"Did they find him?" the other guy asked.

"No, and not only that, he just keeps kidnapping more and more." the guy answered. "There will be more victims."

"Oh no! I don't want to go alone." the girl named Mimi said.

"Don't worry. This guy only kidnaps cute girls!" the guy joked.

"You jerk! Hey Yiru, What do you think?" Mimi asked.

"Well, I think you need to be careful Miss Mimi, because you're very pretty." YiRu answered.

"Really? YiRu, you're so sweet!" Mimi grinned.

"Hey Yiru! Stop being so suck up! It goes to her head!" the guy yelled at him.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Mimi snapped at the guy.

"But it's true!"

"Why are you always like that?"

YiRu just smiled and continued sending email to YaLun.

HORRIBLE CRIMES ARE STILL BEING COMMITTED. NOW THAT I AM NO LONGER PART OF SLAYERS...

... IT'S NOT MY PLACE TO WORRY ANYMORE.

YALUN, HOW IS HEBE? I'M SURE MOVING HER TO A HOSPITAL IN A BETTER ENVIRONMENT WILL HELP HER RECOVERY.

LAST WEEK, I RAN INTO GUIGUI IN TOWN.

SHE LOOKED SAD BECAUSE YOU HAD MOVED SO FAR AWAY.

IF YOU EVER COME INTO TOWN...

... PLEASE GO SEE HER.

The next day, YiRu came to his school earlier.

"Good morning!" he greeted his classmates.

"Hey, big news!" the guy came running from the hallway. "Mimi's been kidnapped!"

"No way!" everyone yelled.

"On her way to school this morning, some guys jumped out of a car and took her." the guy informed them.

"Stop it! It's not funny!" the other girl said angrily.

"I'm not joking! Kara and Mae were there!" the guy answered. "They were running and crying into the teacher's room saying that Mimi has been kidnapped."

"So it's true."

"So scary!"

"Mimi was kind of pretty. This is really bad." the guy shook his head.

"Are you saying she's gonna get killed?" the other girl asked.

"Well, umm..."

"No way!"

"How should I know?"

"What should we do?"

"Let go! There's nothing we can do! Right YiRu?" the guy turned to YiRu.

"Huh?" YiRu was speechless. "Yeah..."

"Come on, right side, spread out!" ChunNie yelled at the children he's teaching soccer.

"ChunNie, what do you think?" YiRu asked over the phone.

"YiRU, we aren't in Slayers anymore. We have nothing to do with these things anymore." ChunNie answered as he kicked the ball.

Meanwhile, DaDong and Kate are going to the resthouse at the foot of the mountain. He kept looking at her.

"I still can't believe it." DaDong said.

"what?" Kate asked.

"That you're someone else. Are you really...?" DaDong said.

"I'm Kate," she laid into his shoulders.

"Sorry." DaDong apologized.

"This warmth... I feel like I've spent time like this... with someone like you before." Kate mumbled.

"Really?" DaDong asked surprisingly.

"Maybe." Kate answered.
